Yikes! I've just entered online to do Grade 4 Viola. There's no going back now...
Is anyone else taking Grade 4 Viola this Autumn?

That was cutting it quite fine for the entry deadline!
I'm not doing grade 4 viola (I'm doing grade 4 piano though!) but good luck and I hope that you do well

I know! I couldn't decide whether to do it now or in the Spring.
Good luck with yours too

Oooh, are you? Which pieces are you doing? I've had a little peek ahead at the Grade 5 stuff. I want to play the Schubert/Rosamunde one, because we used to play it in orchestra and I love it.

I'm playing the Tambourin-Gossec, can't remember the name of the second piece except its from the Magic Flute by Mozart and Landscape with Rumba by Phillip Bass, what are you playing?

I'm doing Handel's Bourree, Bizet's Farandole (which is a well-know tune - I didn't realise it was on the list until not long ago!), and Leroy Anderson's 'The Typewriter' (which I've liked ever since my school band used to play it years ago!).
I've got the music for Tambourin and Landscape with Rumba, as they're in 'Time Pieces' aren't they. I'll check them out when I've got through the exam.
Did you take Grade 4 during 2003-04? If so, which pieces did you do?

Yep they are in 'Time Pieces', and so is the second piece, its the one right after the Tambourin. I haven't done any grades on the viola, so grade 5 is my first one!

Hi, i'm not doing any viola exams this term but i'm learning the Tambourin too Isabel. I didn't like it at first but i do now. I'm also learning the 1st piece in 'Time Pieces' but i can't remember its name. I want to learn the Landscape with Rumba, is it hard? Good luck with your exams!

Landscape with Rumba is nowhere NEAR as hard as it looks. Seriously, its really just the melody which is simple, and then a few special effects, which I'm sure your teacher would show you how to do.
