Can anyone tell me what it is usual to do in these places?

[1] Bars 9-10 and elsewhere: If I do the LH octave Gs with finger 5 and thumb should I also do the D to F# with same way? My LH defaults to 4 and thumb on the F# as I have quite large hands. This I think, changes the shape/span of my hand so I miss the next octave Gs. Advice?

[2] Near the end (bar 116) in the LH quavers there is a B flat which the RH is holding. The LH B flat needs playing but can I then forget it as far as the RH is concerned? I suppose I could strike it again with my RH. What is meant to happen here.

Thanks for the help - as you can see I'm really an organist!

[1] I think you should paly the octaves with thumb and little finger here (or at least all with same fingering, whatever is easiest for you) - changing fingering would be fine elsewhere, but you have a sequence of rapid octave jumps here and the easiest way is probably to keep the same hand shape throughout. Perhaps you could practice octave arpeggios and broken chords to help with judging the distances.

[2] The b flat needs to sounds continuously from bar 115 to almost the end. Pedal is coming on and off, so I would say keep the b flat down throughout and take it again with RH in bar 116.

Nice piece, but the B minor Rhapsody is even lovelier wub.gif

Sue, indeed, but much harder ! I endorse your comments on the G Minor.
