does anyone have advice about compostion basically
iv done G5 theory
but im interested in more pop/rock kind of composition
and the things i do sound really major/minor and just pretty lame
i have a really good quality keyboard with recording stuff and different beats and id like to experiment with it to get some interesting sounding stuff
but
i dont know where to start
advice..??

A five or ten minute keyboard jam is usually helpful in determining a melody or a basic figure that you build on. You could also try listening to a bunch of music that you've never heard before and let ideas flow from the unexpected. In my experience, the best composition come from just sitting down with a basic idea in mind and never stopping to lift your pencil.

Do not rely on the technology that you have too much for composition. Set you musical sights low to begin with and let them evolve. Do not worry if things do not go the way you want them to to start with. Share your music with like minded people!
