I got the Music Theory in Practice book for G6 the other day. I'm not planning to start work on it just yet, I just wanted to see what was covered and whether I would enjoy doing or not as I know it's a lot different to G5. I've had a look through the book, and although it all looks quite complicated, I think I will enjoy unravelling it. So I do plan to make a start on it eventually but not just yet.
How are you getting on with it, ET?

Hi Skylark
Glad to hear that you have gone out and bought the Gade 6 Music and Theory Practise book, haven't actually bought this myself as I found that I didn't really use these in Grades 1 - 5 yet I bought for all of them. I have the Grade 6 ABRSM theory workbook which gives examples of questions in the exam. We worked on Question 4 one week which was fine whilst I was with my teacher, not so good when I attempted another Qestion 4 on my own. I bought Revised Practise in Music Theory by Josephine Koh and have been working on Harmony basics and techniques, I am enjoying this. However, my teacher set me Question 1A in the ABRSM workbook, and I am afraid that I have forgotten what I am supposed to do, so I will have to wait until tomorrow evening. in the meantime I am ploughing through the Josephine Koh book. Strange how suddenly I am realising why we have learnt scales and intervals as I watch certain triads change from major to minor. I can't wait until it all makes real sense.
I have ordered Harmony in Practise text book and the answer book from Amazon and hoping that this will make life easier for me.
Does anone know of a CD for Grade 6 theory where they talk you through things?
Well 4 weeks gone, only 2 more weeks until we get our Grade 5 results.
