Yeah it's the original version - i can play much harder pieces than grade 4 level, but have been entered for the exam + it's my first violin exam, so hence why it says im grade 4. But you're right that the bowing is hard - it's hard not to turn the quaver string crossings into triplets - and even harder to get the right up bows and down bows in. But i love a challenge, i've been at that first page for about 2 or 3 hours now and have memorised it all

I'm finding it good practise for shifting, as it's full of shifts but simple shifts, like to 2nd or 3rd position and the occasional 4th.
I'd love to hear it on organ, i can imagine it'd be really cool. Though i'm guessing the organ version must be harder than the violin version maybe? Cause i really doubt i'd be able to play a grade 8 violin piece! I'd probably be able to scrape my way through a grade 7 piece, and get through a grade 6 piece without too much of a struggle - so i was guessing it would have been around that level.
