Hi All

I had sat down on Friday trying to concentrate on a past exam paper whilst I was waiting to go to the hospital to see my Mum. They will not allow us in there until 3.00pm and this has been awful whilst she has been so ill and needs us to calm her. Anyway, reluctantly I took this paper to my lesson yesterday and said to my teacher " I don't think I can even remember the basics anymore, my brain has shut off" We went through the paper and I had got all my melodic intervals correct, the time signature and where you have to put in the bar lines, all my chord and cadences questions were correct and my teacher loved my melody. My teacher showed me an easy way to transpose as I was making it far too difficult. On the whole it appears that I am ready for the Grade 5 and I have a few weeks to go to perfect which should also compensate where my mind cannot be on it totally.

So thank you to all of you that helped me make what I now know is the right decision to have entered for the exam in February.

Well, best of luck, and I bet your mother will be proud that you are going ahead with the exam.

Good to have such a supportive teacher, too! It sounds as if you really have your preparation on a solid footing.

So pleased to read your post - well done.

Sorry about the visiting hours though - how frustrating.
