I have put a bunch of new materials up on my website for all to download without charge.

In addition to the shifting, scale and finger pattern materials, there are now a series of worksheets which amount to a whole curriciulum for teaching rhythm. There are units arranged from easy to difficult that deal with most common rhythmic reading concepts. Examples are short and to the point.

Finally, there are twelve familiar folk tunes morphed rhythmically that offer a challenge to the average high school musician. Any one who can sightread these perfectly and up to tempo is in good shape. These are written for violin, viola, and cello/bass combined and can be used with individuals or in string classes.

The website is www.stringskills.com

As always, your comments are welcome.

Thanks, I'll certainly make use of those shifting exercises.

These materials are aimed at bowed string instruments, either individually or in mixed groups.
