Orchestra Seeks Composer Workshop

An opportunity to take part in the 'workshop' for YLSS's first commission of a new piece of music, play the shortlisted entries and meet the composers.

•4 shortlisted entries will be 'workshopped' by Phil Cashian, Head of Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, with the composers present
•George Kennaway will be the conductor for the day
•There will be a feedback session at the end of the afternoon so that everyone present can share their views about the 4 pieces to help the Selection Panel decide on the winner
•YLSS will then be working with the successful composer to rehearse the piece for a performance in 2008
•Cost for the day: members £10 (member concessions £7.50);non-members £15.
