OK, as there's a guitar and a book in the music room, which no-one touches, I thought I'd teach myself guitar.
I've got to the stage where I can play 1 easy melody line, and just started on 3 chords.

I did much the same thing. Then got to know someone in the recorder group I ran who had guitar lessons who had a friend who also had guitar lessons and next thing I knew I was negotiating with the music teacher a room for a guitar group.
It depends what type of guitar you're playing...if it's classical sort of stuff, get some tutor books or go for lessons. If it's more popular music you're after, try some group lessons, or learn a few more chords (chords are grreat on the guitar, they work really nicely), and go from there.

My fingers aren't used to some of the positions at all. Like a 4th finger on G and a 1st finger on E at the same time 
It's becuase 'm playing the easy stuff from 8 notes, but that's a bit of a jump from begginer, so It's difficult...

Oh I used the easy stuff from 8notes!!! That's where I got the simplified F chord from....

Well, I picked it up a month ago, learn a few chords, decided that chords wasn't my thing, so went to 8 notes last week
