I really look forward to the London Jazz Festival every November. However the line up this year doesnt look enticing at all. I have managed to get tickets for Sonny Rollins at the Barbican, but am just not inspired by any other names. Any recommendations anyone?

Depends what your thing is really. This year I'd like to see Joshua Redman, Northern Underground Orchestra with Tim Garland, and John Surman. I don't really like the Barbican as a venue for jazz or I'd be tempted by Sonny Rollins and Joe Zawinul as well. There are often quite a few good fringe type events that are well worth seeing too.
