? In the context I know it is a form of repetition - One part plays it, then another part but at an interval above. I think.

That's a reasonable description Rosemary.
It may well be in the same part though.

For sequence, my old music teacher always used to use the Nokia Tune as an example - the annoying ringtone you hear. That is a descending sequence, a phrase repeated in a different key.

The use of sequence is a great way to fill the second 4 bars in the composition question too.
Doesn't work every time but when it does it makes life so much easier.

I never found it possible to stick to a set chord sequence, it was melodic sequence I meant... like the one you were asking about in the first post on the thread.
