Hello everyone. I have a question for you. How close to the translations given in the theory books do the translations of the Italian terms have to be? I speak Italian so can understand the gist of what they mean - but my translations don't always exactly match! Does this matter?

I wouldn't have thought so, so long as the general meaning was the same! Italian is a lovely language wub.gif

Seems like it is. happy.gif Although, I'm only just starting to learn the basics! blush.gif

On a theory paper what is most important is to show that you know what the instruction actually means in relation to performing the music.
And exact translation is not always necessary.
