How long does it take to receive theory results? I am sure I saw somewhere that it was six weeks....is that right?

Supposedly, although I've had them as soon as 3 weeks in the past.

I've spoken to ABRSM and it says on the website that published results have been sent out in the post.

When it says published results are in the post, it means the ones that are listed/published online have already also been sent by post.

Oh, thanks, Sarah Flute. So it does mean then that some of them are on their way then but not everyone's. Do you think they will publish some more online today?

I don't think that Theory Results are all sent out at the same time, as that's why they say 4-6 weeks - it could be another 2 weeks.

Basically it means once you can see your result online, it's in the post, too - it won't appear online till it's been verified and posted.
"published results have been sent out in the post" is the generic thing that it says to let you know that results won't appear till they have been posted, I think.
I have had results published at different times in one day (i.e, I looked and one was there, and later in the same day the other arrived) so it is possible that more results will be published online. However the theory results do take a long time so you may still have to be patient. I hope you get your results soon!

Has anyone at all actually had a Theory result from a June 16th exam?
My daughter is driving me mad asking me to look for it online!
Last year, the Theory results came out before the result for my practical which I took on the Monday a week and a bit after the Theory exam was held.
Thanks

I don't, country girl. My teachers receive them. I just keep telling myself that the reason I have not heard yet is that they are making my certificate. Actually, I think I remember reading that they come in dribs and drabs and could be between four and six weeks.

Jul 19 2007, 05:43 PM
I think you have to have your teacher's applicant number, Max, but I am not sure. If you have a number you can go to the home part of the ABRSM board. It has a section called online entries, or something, and you click on that. You then have to submit your applicant number and a password to get through.

If you are the applicant (the person who sent in the entry) then you can access them by following the online entry and services link on the home page.
You have to have your applicant number and password.

Sorry to sound a spoilsport, Max, but just because some of the theory results are out, it doesn't mean that all of them are.
Last year, waiting for my grade 6 result, it took over two weeks more for mine to arrive than some on the forums, even though we all took the exam on the same day.
And when they are out online, they will go to whoever put the application in. They are the only person who gets to access to the results.

Why cannot people accept that the Board say 4-6 weeks. Yours may be another 10 days, or they may be out tomorrow. A bit of patience wouldn't go amiss. Its a mammouth task for the Board to go through so many results and upload them. I gather that as soon as they are online, they are despatched by post.

Well, I had last checked yesterday lunchtime, no result.
Last night was a bit busy, so I didn't bother to look, but I found out this morning that not only was my one result online, the email had appeared at 18:35 last night! So if I'd bothered to look last night, daughter would have known that she had 98% in grade 2 - not bad for only 2 weeks real work from scratch on theory, and although she is about to take harp grade 5 in the Nov session, she really had almost no idea about performance directions etc.
As it is I found the result when I got to work and she's in school for the last day this year, so she won't find out till she gets home. I hope they've fed the donkeys - she may get the certificate today, but out in the sticks our post doesn't arrive much before 2:30pm. It'd be nice to know what she dropped the 2 marks on!!
