Hi All

I'm a grade 3 trumpeter just recently I'm having real trouble with my bottom end! It''s only happening when I move from higher notes to the lower end, there's just nothing there at the bottom. if i stop blowing and just blow out some long low tones it's fine. Any suggestions?!?

I understand why your having trouble. It is more difficult to hit low notes after playing high ones. A good exercise is to go from (eg) middle c to bottom g and increase the interval each time. eg, C g D g E g F g G g A g B g C, if you understand what I mean. This will give you practice in adjusting to the different lip positions quickly.
