Can anyone who uses this book tell me which pieces are approximately grade 2 Standard and which are grade 3. Thanks

Perhaps ask the teacher to look at the music and comment? Anything that needs 3rd position is going to be G3 though.

Thanks for replying. Am reluctant to put that question to the teacher as where my son learns they use exams sparingly (which is fine by me) and I don't want to get labelled as a pushy parent (of which there are a lot round here). I just wanted to get an idea of the level at which he playing.

I suppose the truth is that as I'm happy that he is progressing well I shouldn't worry about it!

I doubt they'd see you as a pushy parent if you told them what you just told me. After all, it's hard for anyone to enjoy what they're learning if the level is too high for them. Your question and the reason for it all seem very sensible to me.
