Title says it all really - how can I practice the double-stops in Liebesfreud?
My main problem is i can't get my fingers to move independently for themselves (if that makes sense blink.gif ), and often my fourth finger drags on the next door string so it makes that horrible squeaky screech.

Anyone know how I can solve this??

I know what you mean! It's really a beautiful song, try this:

1. Sound out the notes one by one with both aligned together.
2. Once you get the orientation right, shift your fingers up and down (C-B-C, A-G#-A) while concentrating on the index finger, try to lock your last finger so it runs smoothly together. Repeat the steps!
3. Do it slowly, you'll get it in time! smile.gif

1. Practice lower notes only with fingering correct for double stops.
2. Practice upper notes only with fingering correct as for double stops.
3. Work out where the tones and semitones come when you would play the notes together (ie fingers close together or apart).
4 Practice playing lower notes only but also fingering the upper notes, takin special care over finger spacing (see 3 above).
5. Practice playing upper notes only but also fingering lower notes (see 4 above).
6. Slowly, carefully and softly put both lines together.
