How do you write a Quarter tone??

Is a quarter tone a crotchet? I don't think I know what a quarter tone is. I look forward to finding out. Hope you are well.

A quarter tone is half a semitone.

Quarter tone sharp is written like a sharp sign but with only one vertical line
Quarter tone flat is written as a backwards flat sign (like a d rather than a b)

If you mean, as in half a semitone...



I've never seen the microtonal flats notated, but those sharp signs ^ are how I have seen sharps notated as microtones.

Quarter tone sharp, half a tone sharp, 3/4 tone sharp, and flats the same HTH
