Can anyone help me find some sheet music? I'm looking for 'Pizzicato for a Poodle' by Harry Dexter, published I think around 1972, for string orchestra. Can anyone point me in the right direction to track this down? Help much appreciated!

I'm not sure where you are in the world, but it might be worth trying somewhere like the Westminster Music Library. I think they can send out scores under certain conditions.

Good luck. smile.gif

Thanks for the tips guys. I've done all the music site searches and come up ziltch - same with the Westminster site. I know it was published by Edwin Ashdown and have come up with a couple of references to the work on the web, but can't find any reference to the score! arrrggh!

I was a member of the Peterborough Schools String Orchestra in the mid to late seventies, and we played it then, so it was relatively new. Alas the Orchestra met its demise or I would have tried contacting them.

All other tips or thoughts welcome - and thanks again

The work will still be under copyright restrictions if it was first published in 1972. As it is likely to be out of print at the moment, you should contact the publisher. If the publishers are not helpful, then you could try to contact the composer, or, if he is no longer around, his heirs.

You mentioned that Edwin Ashdown were the publishers. It appears that Edwin Ashdown are connected with Music Sales UK now (according to the faq on their website). If you look in the faq on that website it tells you how to order archival photocopies of out-of-print music published by Music Sales companies, so it looks like you might be able to get hold of the sheet music.
