Ok in the 8th bar if I am correct there is a ridiculously huge cord, with three notes. F Bb and C.
Can any of you guys do that? Do you just completely ignore it or what? I don't like that little chord so I miss it a lot and teacher tends to tell me off and I just do an F and Bb which she doesn't mind as much.. What do you do? She also wants to know why the ABRSM publishers put that chord in it.
I want to know what you do and your opinions please thanks. =)

Dont know that piece, but if you have to omit part of the chord, or arpegiate it, then its not excactly a mortal sin. Much better than a strain. Not that wild on this composers piano music, and he did write quite a few miniatures.

Classical piano music is full of "impossible" Chords: As I see it You have 4 options
1) play something else (don't be silly)
2) omit bits (not desirable - why are the notes there if you can omit them willy-nilly?)
3) arpeggiate (often used)
4) ornamentate i.e. treat part of the chord as an ornament (similar to arpeggiate but you still play most of the chord together, as a proper chord)
Which one you choose is up to you and will probably vary from piece to piece, or even within a piece according to circumstance. If you look closely there may even be a clue in the way it's written - with some parts of the chord in a diferrent "voice" (i.e. tails in opposite directions etc.). I'm not familiar with this Sibelius, but I can give an example from elsewhere: Debussy's "the girl with the flaxen hair" has several chords in this category. Some I arpeggiate, some I ornamentate. I worked this out for myself (preen, preen) and then watched/listened to a performance by a pro on youtube. He does it the same (but not so good - haha, I think not).

You can't put the blame on the publishers.... it's the composer who decided what notes to put in.
Just looking now... I think it's the one in bar 4/5 you mean.... Bb F C not F Bb C
I've seen bigger reaches than a 9th before but I would go with Chopinzee's suggestion of arpeggiating it if you can't reach.

Personally I, and my Grade 7 pupil, are able to play it - it crops up quite a lot in this piece and similar stretches in different keys. I would wonder whether this is the best piece for you if you can't stretch the chords... However if you are already comitted to it, I would just spread the chords as quickly and neatly as you can.

I haven't seen this piece so I'm working blind here, but another possibility might be to play the F as a grace note before the Bb/C. Sometimes that can be a very acceptable solution.

In which case my idea isn't as good as I first thought it was.
Play the Bb as a grace note before the F/C then.
