If you make too much noise somebody will tell you, but I don't think that's going to happen.

The tambourine makes quite a racket and it probably feels very loud to you compared with the flute, especially if you're playing it on your own. On the other hand, it's not nearly as loud as other percussion instruments - the triangle is much more piercing, and if you ever get to stand next to someone playing drum kit or timpani you'll have a new definition of what the word "loud" means smile.gif

It will be better once you're in the band. In fact you might find that the others ask you to play louder (which is the best thing anyone can ever say to a percussionist).

Well if you have a fear of performing at the moment I don't think it's going to last very long smile.gif Playing tambourine in this band is going to be SO MUCH FUN that performing will suddenly become one of the things you most want to do.

I'm not saying this just to make you feel better. I'm absolutely sure you're going to have a wonderful time, and I expect you to post another message next week telling me I was right! biggrin.gif
