Good grief! The new UK system that has just started at end of this August has found a bosom pal! Actually, I've just had a terrible thought! It's that our new UK postal system which now relies on actual sizing may be holding EVERY ONE ELSE up. Not just the French!

For example, I purchased a copy of Goldie Hawn's biography. It shd have arrived early last week but it only came this morning.

Have you not?! Well, VN showed me a really funny cartoon about the confusion in the Daily Telegraph. It was truly funny! But I can't describe it - sorry. Anyway, the newspaper reported there will be massive confusion changing the price of postage from being a weight-based one to a system of pricing that relies in part on the actual size of the envelope used!

Allan sent me some music a while ago and it took aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages, much slower than post going the other way. Don't panic yet!

My music didn't come either, and Allan was posting it to France.

VN has no choice! I have no choice, either!!! Dad buys only the DT and the ES so we ALL have to read the DT (since ES is sheer rubbish!) plus the free Metro newspaper from the underground. The Metro is a good quality paper with a high reading index (a formal professional measure of readable English) plus much less gossip than ES.

My sister in law sent something to a relative from France which took over 2 months to arrive. when it did arrive it had been date stamped in Iraq several times before making it to the UK!

I forget how long it took in the end, but it was certainly longer than the PO people had claimed it would take.

Music went out almost two weeks ago, I think - although I wouldn't panic just yet, quite a bit of post I've sent recently has taken a while to get to the UK.
