Can anyone tell me exactly how to shape my viola bridge? Or direct me to an online resource?
I bought a brand new Stentor Student II over the internet that came with a totally unshaped bridge. I have had a few lessons, and my teacher said having it shaped would help a great deal.
I have taken the thing to pieces and the soundpost seems secure, but dont know how much to shape the bridge. What are the standard measurements? i have 16" viola.
I am fairly confident at messing around with the instrument (after all its not worth much) so just need a little guidance. I know I should really get someone professional to do it, but I am totally skint at the moment.

The chances of your getting it right are unlikely indeed. Take it to a professional luthier, and it will be done properly.
Having the bridge lowered will cost less than totallly replacing one that has been butchered beyond hope.

Yes, I take your point...
But as it is a cheap student instrument, and buying a new unshaped bridge (to put me back to where I was) costs less than £5, there isnt really a great deal to lose.
I have begun the process........ after finding some hints on the web - by shaping the feet to fit the belly more closely (Using sandpaper taped to the belly, slowly rubbing the bridge feet against the point of contact)
I understand the risk of the soundpost moving or falling, but having already taken the bridge off, this doesnt seem to be a problem
